Intrepid Potash, Aquatech International, and Adionics announce progress on their lithium development project in Wendover, Utah, with the successful completion of test work to produce a battery-grade lithium carbonate from byproduct brine at Intrepid's Wendover, Utah potash facility. The potential to develop a lithium processing facility in Wendover, Utah has continued to progress as Adionics and Aquatech successfully produced battery-grade lithium carbonate in a demonstration test of Intrepid's Wendover brine. The testing results achieved a lithium extraction rate of 92.9%, producing an overall lithium chloride purity above 99.5%. The lithium that was produced from Adionics' facility was further processed by Aquatech to validate the conversion and refining to battery-grade lithium carbonate. In additional testing, Aquatech successfully converted the lithium-rich brine to a greater than or equal to99.5% lithium carbonate product, meeting key specifications for battery manufacturing. With the successful testing results, the parties will continue to move forward under the current Joint Development Agreement with their evaluation of a lithium facility in Wendover.

Shares of Mosaic (MOS), Nutrien (NTR), CF Industries (CF), and Intrepid Potash (IPI) are under pressure on Monday after the U.S. announced it would remove sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizers. According to Bloomberg, special envoy John Coale said President Trump ordered the sanctions lifted, effective immediately. More restrictions might be eased as U.S.-Belarus relations normalize, Coale added. Announcement follows Trump's push to rebuild ties with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the publication noted. PRICE ACTION: Share of Mosaic, Nutrien, CF, and Intrepid are trading down 3%, 4%, 1.5% and 1%, respectively.

Shares of fertilizer stocks, including Mosaic (MOS), Nutrien (NTR), Intrepid Potash (IPI), FMC (FMC), and CF Industries (CF), jumped on Thursday after Ukraine said its drones hit two fertilizer plants in western Russia. The latter is a major global fertilizer exporter. A drone attack caused a large fire at a chemical plant in the Russian city of Veliky Novgorod overnight on December 11, according to regional authorities and several monitoring Telegram channels, said The Kyiv Independent.
