Gilat Satellite Network announced the successful demonstration of 3GPP-compliant 5G Non-Terrestrial Network, NTN, connectivity over a Geostationary Earth Orbit, GEO, satellite. The demonstration validated the delivery of end-to-end high performance standardized 5G NTN services over existing GEO satellite infrastructure, representing a significant step toward seamless terrestrial-non-terrestrial network integration. More specifically, the demonstration confirmed key 5G NTN capabilities required for GEO operation, including 5G NTN VSAT and Hub technologies, latency compensation and protocol optimizations. "Our vision is to implement 3GPP standards for GEO, MEO and LEO orbits," said Aharon Mullokandov, Chief R&D Officer at Gilat. "Satellite operators and mobile network operators will be able to expand coverage, improve resilience, and accelerate service deployment. Gilat continues to advance its 5G NTN roadmap with further trials, ecosystem partnerships, and commercial solutions across GEO and non-GEO satellite environments."

Gilat Satellite Networks announced that it has received $39M in orders from a leading satellite operator for its electronically steered antenna Sidewinder in-flight connectivity terminals, including both linefit and retrofit installations. Deliveries are expected over the next 12 months. These new orders of additional Sidewinder ESA terminals highlight the accelerating global shift toward ESA solutions as airlines and service providers work to meet rapidly growing demand for high quality in-flight broadband.

Gilat Satellite Networks announced that its defense division, Gilat Defense, has been awarded a contract valued $9 million by Israel's Ministry of Defense for the delivery and integration of satellite communication systems and services. The order includes next generation defense modems which are a key component of Gilat's ground system Defense solution. These modems will significantly enhance the system's ability to deliver secure, reliable, and flexible communications. Built for mission-critical operations, they are engineered to operate dependably in harsh and unpredictable environments, ensuring robust connectivity across a wide range of operational scenarios.
